Data Analytics

Colourtext develops advanced segmentation, machine learning and natural language analysis tools that are applied across 1st party, social media, CRM and market research data sets

Big data fans

Colourtext  bridges the gap between the established market research industry and the fast-moving world of data analytics.  We are data analytics  experts  who work across a wide range of social media, advertising, CRM, market research and 1st party data sets.

We have developed a range of advanced data analysis techniques and proprietary software tools in the exciting fields of natural language processing, data segmentation and graph-based network analysis.

Colourtext also designs powerful and visually appealing data dashboards for many of our clients using the Microsoft Power BI platform and its associated DAX and M Power Query database languages.

What is Quant Semiotics?

Quant Semiotics mines insights from massive amounts of web and social content that no human lifetime will be long enough (or dull enough) to read though. When the word-count gets really big, words stop behaving like words and we have to begin treating them like numbers. This is when Quant Semiotics comes into its own, hence the name.

A virtue signaller, moi?

How Much Do Consumers Really Care About Environmental Sustainability? We used a Revealed-Preference survey methodology and Regression Analysis to find any gaps that might exist between public posture and private priorities.

Passive data collection

Passive data collection allows us to analyse modern digital lifestyles and eShopper trends in granular detail. We collected and analysed every click made by 3,500 U.S. eShoppers on their mobile and desktop devices over a 6 week period. This huge volume of 'clickstream' behavioural data was collected via our GDPR-compliant passive metering technology.

Twitter analytics for consumer insights

We analysed Twitter data to find consumer insights that helped us discover the early adopters of a new health & well-being product and build out a look-a-like audience.

Local Facebook analytics

Colourtext’s Facebook analytics dashboard uses machine learning to capture organic Facebook posts authored by local advertisers and sift them for information about price cutting, seasonal offers, new product launches and store openings.

Posts that indicate a business might wish to advertise are then piped directly into a CRM platform as leads for media sales executives to action.

Music radio trends

Colourtext has developed a UK Music Trends Dashboard for the BBC that uses RadioMonitor playlist data to produce a strategic picture of how the UK's music radio market has evolved from 2016 to the present day.

We've created an edited 'lite' version of the dashboard for you to play with.

Our work
Amnesty International

Colourtext blended Amnesty's CRM and market research data into a unique segmentation of UK charity givers. The vivid personas that we developed underpinned a new lookalike consumer targeting strategy for Amnesty that delivered 300,000 new direct-debit donators in its first year.

Spotify Listening Trends

Thanks to streaming data supplied by RadioMonitor, we’ve created a regular and independent analysis of the most popular artists, tracks and music genres requested by Spotify’s users in the UK.
